Danny Ross
Danny has provided the following information on
two projects he is successfully involved in.
He has been coating guide plates for a machine
which has a rubber belt running across it.
The machine runs for 14 continuous hours.
The belts and plates were wearing out in 3
months and needed to be replaced at a cost of
$1800.00. Danny applied a mixture of TLMB
and TLML. The final mix extended the life
to such a point that the plate and belt life was
extended to 9 months and the plates are no
longer replaced, they are recoated. This
provided a significant savings in maintenance
and replacement costs to the customer.
He has also been coating a unit which is part of
the production of fiber optic cables. He
coats a part that ceramic balls roll on when the
molten glass is forced through it. The
coating allows the ceramic balls to roll
smoothly. The coating of choice in this
application is TLMB.

Steve Knott
Steve, our representative and distributor in
Australia passed along the following test
results.
One of our Sidney shops recently coated an
intake manifold from a Chrysler 300C Hemi V8
(current model).
The performance shop measured the intake
manifold temperature before having it coated
with Thermal Barrier underneath and Thermal
Dispersant on top. They were ecstatic with
the 40° C (104° F)
temperature drop.
Our west Australian shop coated a railway track
grinding machine that was having trouble with a
build-up of slag on the spark plates. The
grinding slag would build up to such an extent
it would stop the machine (more than a tonne of
weight on the plates) requiring removal of the
slag. The experts made special stainless
steel plates which buckled with no improvement.
Our coating shop coated the plates with TLML
over TLMB. The machine has been operating
for 4 months with no build up or stoppages.
