Training
BCD Coatings, Pulaski TN
Bruce, a long time Tech Line Customer, has
advised us that he will be offering training
classes in the application of performance
coatings. The class will be held at his facility
and will be at a very reasonable cost. Tech Line
personal may also attend to provide additional
information to the students. For those
interested call our
Texas
Sales office for more information.
Other Metallic Ceramic Coatings
From Russ Meeks of
RM Engineering/Finish Line Coatings
Milwaukee,
OR
Russ wanted to pass on the results of testing he
has done on “competitive” coatings from other
companies over the years. This information is
beneficial to all shops as it was done without
the knowledge or cooperation of Tech Line
Coatings. He has found that while some polish
quicker, and to a very nice shine, they have
several problems.
They are:
Softer and easier to damage
Poorer adhesion and are very easy to strip
Poor corrosion resistance leading to early
failure, negating one of the primary purposes of
a coating
Lower thermal resistance leading to early
dulling and adhesion failure
The lower cost of some coatings does not
compensate for the poor performance and customer
dissatisfaction, which only damages the
reputation of the applicator and the Industry in
general. Some of these “competitors” say they
use special additives to improve the
performance, better aluminum fillers and other
such claims. There are no materials that are
used that are not available to Tech Line. The
difference is in the resin formula, as we use
the best fillers available at this time. The
reality is that in every independent test, Tech
Line’s CermaKrome has proven to be superior to
all others.
This information will be especially valuable to
our customers as we are receiving calls from
manufacturers regularly, which are dissatisfied
with the “competitive” coatings and are looking
to switch to applicators using our coating
products. One major account just switched last
week to a Tech Line applicator.
