Supplemental Instructions
For Many of
our products there simply is not enough room to
print all of the information we have available
for each product. While there is
sufficient information to allow the proper
application, we have also gleaned a great deal
of additional information in the way of tips
from our professional customers as well as data
collected from our in-house testing. In
the future we will be making this information
available on our web site and accessible to
everyone.
TLHB
TLHB is one of our best all around
coatings. It is an excellent Thermal Barrier as well as
a corrosion inhibitor. It also shines quite well in the
area of Chemical resistance. In a test run by our Agent
in So. Africa, Sartor
Bros, a piece of metal was coated except for a small
area near one end. These pieces of metal were then
submerged in Hydrochloric acid. The photo below shows
the damage experienced by the exposed metal, while the
coated area is untouched. Even the glossy finish is not
changed by the acid.
TLHB is excellent in applications
where strong chemicals like acids are present, though it
is not recommended for highly alkaline applications. In
one test a metal part was coated with TLHB and submerged
in sulfuric acid for 2 ½ weeks, with no effect on the
coating or the part protected by it. TLHB is showing
excellent results in heat exchanger applications where
the plates stay clean and are not degraded by a build up
of the chemical used. Where a highly alkaline
environment is involved we recommend either our TechTrex
line or Amadene based products.
