Brake systems show significant benefit when coating technology is applied. Braking efficiency can be increased through reducing the transfer of heat from the rotor/pad interface. Caliper and brake fluid temperatures can be significantly reduced with an attendant increase in brake performance. Rotor and wheel bearing temperatures can also be reduced, as well as the attendant thermal transfer to the wheel/tire assembly. Lubricants on piston and bore can reduce seal wear and leakage.

Retail, Bulk, & Shop Only Brake System Coatings

• Caliper: CBC1, CBC2, CBX, Black Satin or TLHB and TLTD ( Note: the retail packaged products insulate only, the shop products insulate and radiate heat away from the caliper)
• Disk Brake Pads: CBC1, CBC2, CBX, Black Satin or TLHB
• Rotor: No retail material, TLTD
• Hub: CBC1, CBC2, CBX, Black Satin or TLHB
• Piston/Bore: DFL-1 and PKSX or TLML and PKSX

RETAIL PACKAGED MATERIALS

• CBC1 and Black Satin reduce the amount of heat that can transfer from the pads. Apply to the back of the pad. They will also reduce the amount of heat the caliper or the hub/bearing assembly can absorb. Coat either the inside curve of the caliper or the entire surface.
• Coat the outside of the hub. Use whichever is convenient, though Black Satin can be damaged by fluids, since it will not full cure in these applications.
• Coat the piston and bore with either DFL-1 or PKSX.
• Coat the face of the piston that contacts the pad with CBC1 or Black Satin.

SHOP ONLY COATINGS

• TLHB, CBC2, or CBX should be applied to the back of the disk brake pad, the inside curve of the caliper facing the rotor and to the hub.
• TLTD should be applied to non contact surfaces of the rotor and to the outside surfaces of the caliper.
• Coat the hub with TLHB, CBC2, or CBX including the I.D. of the hub to further reduce heat transfer to the bearing.
• Coat the piston sides and bore with either TLML or PKSX. Coat the face of the piston that contacts the back of the pad with TLHB
