Porsche 917 Pipes: Peter Herriman from Competition Coatings in Queensland coated a set of pipes for a Porsche 917 Sportscar. The customer wanted them coated in white as that is what the original car had. So far the car has done 2 test days at Queensland raceway and completed over 100 laps. The coating is still perfect & the customer is very happy.

How long do coatings last?

I wanted to share with you a quick story about your coatings which you may find interesting: More than 20 years ago I worked with your brother in NC regarding not only coating some race engine items, but also for my own street driven Old's 455 engine. I had intake done (bottom and top with different coatings), all bearings, pistons, etc. The story I wanted to share with you is that after about a year of use, the engine sat for over 20 years (OUTSIDE) in a car unused. I recently took the engine to get freshened up and gone over since it sat for so long and after disassembly of the engine, the engine shop could not believe that everything was in such good condition, most of which was attributed to the coatings. Pistons looked like new, intake looked brand new still, bearings like new, etc. Just wanted to share that with you, as you probably have not heard many stories where your coatings were looked at after 20 years sitting out in the cold, snow etc weather. –Dave

I just got back from ZCON which is the US largest Nissan Z Car convention. I had a set of coated bearings out on display and showed many customers the different coatings that had been applied to a few items I had on the table. The responses were huge. Right now I'm the only guy using your products for the Nissan Z community and I will be using all of the coatings on other Nissan parts very soon. My booth at this event was the largest out of any of the vendors and we had more products shown and more ppl hanging around our booth than anyone else’s.
