TECH LINE FORUM

Tech Line will have a Discussion Forum up and running by Monday May 18, 2009. This forum will be a site where anyone may ask questions, answer a question or share their experiences. The Forum will be moderated to help it stay on topic. Since we want the Forum to be a place where someone can come for good information on performance coatings, our focus will be on the positive aspects. If someone has had a problem with another company we ask that the company not be mentioned by name. Rather simply identify it as “another coating company”, if it is necessary. Many things can contribute to the failure of a coating aside from quality. Rather than focus on the negative, we want the forum to be a place where information and help is available.

TOP FUEL DRAGSTER
Pro-Kote Indy, Indianapolis, IN

Last Month we received information on US Army Top Fuel Dragster of Tony Schumacher. In addition to the win in Houston mentioned in last months Newsletter, they have also won at Las Vegas. John at Pro-Kote Indy has passed on the following information in regard to the Team’s experience with our coatings.

With EGT's approaching 1700 degrees F., the headers are coated by PRO-KOTE/INDY (Indianapolis) with Techline's TurboX and sealed with CermaSeal. Besides a great look, Mike Green and his crew feel that the quick cool-down of the header pipes affords greater safety and less personnel burns after a run. PRO-KOTE has been informed that the amount of runs that can be made with each set of headers has nearly doubled after PRO-KOTE began coating the headers this season.

TRUCK FUEL EFFICIENCY

We have been monitoring a class 8 truck for two years. This truck is running our TFCC coated manifolds. The fuel mileage improvement has been consistent and the last reading was showing over 8% improvement. The coating is showing no deterioration in appearance, adhesion or effectiveness.
