Welcome to Techlines... September 2003NEW CERMAKROME™ COLORSA series of new, Cermakrome™ COLORS, is NOW available. The new colors are CermaBlue™, CermaSSteel™ and CermaRed™. These new colors are polishable and give a different shade depending on the time they are in the vibratory polisher. All start out a flat shade and as they polish they take on a bright, polished metallic finish, as is normal with Cermakrome™, with the addition of a colored "tone". A fade appearance from dark to light can be achieved by varying the time a section of the coated part spends in the vibrator. Both CermaBlue™, and CermaRed™ will give colored tones, to the bright polished metal appearance. The appearance is especially noticeable in bright sun light, even when polished for an extend time. The first 10 minutes of polishing does not give a desirable appearance. After 10 minutes the coating will take on the bright polished finish, with a solid colored tone. The tone will fade from a solid polished finish to a light translucent appearance, depending on the time in the vibrator. The CermaRed™ after 45 minutes is a translucent Rose. CermaBlue™ is a translucent Steel Blue. We do not recommend polishing any of the new colors for more than 45 minutes. The appearance of the coatings is a polished metal, with the colored tone. CermaSSteel™ comes out of the oven with a gray appearance. After approximately 30 minutes in the vibratory polisher, the coating greatly resembles Stainless Steel. It will have a bright polished luster with a mild black tone that is very similar to stainless steel. By varying the time in the vibrator different hues will be developed. The new colors are water based and cure at 500f and are available in quarts and gallons. Photos of sample pipes, coated by national Process Industry, in Temecula Calif., will be posted on the web site shortly. They show the CermaRed™ and CermaBlue™, with a flame design masked into them and then top coated with Cermakrome™. The photo's give a good idea of the appearance and the custom designs you can do. They were polished to give a solid colored, metallic finish, rather then that translucent color that can be achieved with longer polishing. Roller MillsWe now can make roller mills available to shops that wish to take advantage of their ability to help mix coatings that have significant solids accumulate in the bottom of the container, due to settling during storage. This will work extremely well for mixing Cermakrome™, CBC2, CBX, CBC1, or any other coating. The Mill will accommodate both quart and gallon containers. With the addition of a quart can (supplied) small bottles containing coatings such as CBC2 or CBX can also be milled. A 1 lb. supply of Chrome milling balls is also included with the Mill. These can be added to the coating and will help break up and re-disperse hard accumulations of solids. These Mills are available through Car Chemistry, Inc. and can be included with any Tech Line order, though they will be billed separately. Price is $125.00. A photo of the unit should be posted shortly on Car Chemistry's web page, www.carchemistry.com PRI SHOWIf you haven't yet made arrangements to attend the Performance racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, be sure to do so.
