I.D. Coating of pipes
We are working on a new coating that will be even more user friendly
than MCS. Stay tuned.

This company has some really nice spray booths. If you need a new
booth check with them. This was passed on by Bruce at Micro Coat in
Santa Rosa, CA.
CERMAKROME
Be Aware of humidity and temperature changes. Cermakrome is very
sensitive to weather changes. If you are having any difficulties with
drying, check the moisture content of the air. This is a common problem
with the change in seasons. Also watch oven cycling even if the oven
is set low. Do not put a part in the oven, unless you can stabilize
the temp. If the oven cycles during the drying time, the coating can
be sealed before all the water gets out. Then the coating will not
polish. It would be best to either have a drying room where you can
stabilize the temperature and humidity or get the oven to the drying
temperature and then turn the oven off until the part dries. When
the weather gets cold it becomes harder to get Cermakrome to "lay
down". Cermakrome will "bead up" on the surface. When this occurs
either warm the spray room up or pre heat the part.
NEW LUBRICANT COATING
Testing on the new ceramic lubricant is showing excellent results.
This coating goes on very thin and hard. It has excellent lubricating
properties. Initially it will be recommended for parts such as pistons,
cams ,gears etc. We do not recommend using it on parts such as valve
springs where major flexing will occur. The price will be comparable
to TLML. After running the appearance has been described as "glassy"
and smooth. The test parts have not shown any scratching of the surface,
which can occur with softer coatings. This coating should be available
for shipment in December.
TRUCK BED COATING
This coating should be on display at the PRI show in Indianapolis.
We have achieved a clear, resilient coating that will bond to wood,
metal or paint. It is a durable coating with some 'softness" to it.
When a mark is forced in the surface it will slowly return to its
original state. Being a clear coat it will allow any color to show
through. This means that not only will you be able to "match" any
paint, but it can be applied over a truck bed that has wood inserts
and both paint and wood will show. The coating has a very smooth feel
to it and will allow a surface to be cleaned very easily. This character
means that it can be applied to other surfaces, including body panels,
to shed dirt, rubber etc. In addition it looks like it will make an
excellent clear coat for wheels. The resiliency will allow the coating
to avoid damage that a more ridged coating could suffer. Testing for
this application is not yet complete. This coating will also be available
in a harder form. In both cases the coating is a 2 part and does not
require an oven Cure, nor any special equipment to apply it.
NEW HIGH HEAT CLEAR
Initial testing was on an engine with the coating over a black base.
The resulting finish was glossy and hard. We measured exhaust gas
temperatures in excess of 1400f with no dulling of the clear coat.
This is a ceramic. This should work equally well over our blue base
coat. It also may be applied to bare steel for a protective coat where
"stock" appearance is necessary. This is a 2 part coating and needs
an oven cure.
NEW HIGH HEAT WHITE
A new white will be available shortly. Initial testing has shown
the coating capable of maintaining a chalk white appearance at temperatures
in excess of 1400f. The resulting coating is hard and smooth. It will
take a slight polish for a near porcelain appearance and may also
be top coated with the clear to produce a glossy white finish. This
will be a 2 part coating and needs an oven cure. This is also a ceramic.
Both the white and the clear should be available in December.
PRI
We hope to be able to see many of our customers at the PRI show
in Indianapolis. We will have the new coatings on display.
