Welcome to Techlines... May 2001NEW CERMAKROME APPLICATIONWe have been advised that Cermakrome has been approved for application to Compressor casings at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Facility in California. Engineered Applications is handling the application of the product and was involved in the approval of Cermakrome for this use. ULTRA X!From
Mark
Mark advises us that he has been having excellent results using Ultra X in transmissions and differentials. In one test the Ultra X proved more efficient, in a Hewland gear box, than a high quality, synthetic gear lube, showing a definite H.P advantage. In addition, in a Winters quick change, in a Late Model Stock application a definite drag reduction was shown, when compared to another well known synthetic lube. Ultra X is normally supplied as a 7wt material, which increases the level of lubrication while reducing friction and drag. A 40wt version is also available on special request. INDY 500From
Custom Craft, Inc. 12 cars on the starting grid at the Indy 500 were running Tech Line Coatings, including both the winning and the second place cars. Custom Craft has been coating Indy car components for several years now. Australian MarketThe Australian Auto Show in Sydney Australia was held last month and Tech Line Coatings was an exhibitor. While Australia has a small population compared to its size, the enthusiasm of the Australians for racing and performance is extremely high. When the population ratio between the US and Australia is considered the attendance at the trade show in May was as high or higher than the attendance at the largest US shows. While in attendance we were also able to attend a Hot Rod/Performance Car Show in the same area (Olympic Park) and can tell you that this market is doing very well. It was a little strange to see US cars converted to right hand drive. There were lots of Camaros, Mustangs, early 60’s Fords, Firebirds and quite a few 55-57 Chevy’s, as well as a host of other US made cars. Believe it or not there were a large number of 1962 Valients????? It was disconcerting to see "57" Chevy’s running "56" dash boards, but that is the easiest way to convert to right hand drive. Looking at the number of early American cars that were "Hot Rodded" showed that this market is as strong as it is here in the US. It was also interesting to see the new and old Australian and European cars that were "Hot Rodded" as well. It did hurt to see the V8 powered, rear wheel drive Holden Sedans (Australian GM) everywhere. They are still making these in Australia and we can’t get them here in the US. There are a number of V8, rear wheel drive vehicles currently being made in Australia including an "El Camino" like truck that is really nice. While in attendance we had the opportunity to meet with the owners of several shops applying Tech Line products. They are all very busy and looking forward to future growth. They are hearing the same thing about "other" coatings, from their customers, that we are hearing here in the US. " Cermakrome is brighter and takes more heat than the ‘other’ guys". To support this growth we are establishing a distributor in Australia to supply the needs of this market
