WELCOME TO JUNE, TECHLINES
EUROPEAN MARKET
We just returned from our trip to Europe. We met with a variety of accounts. While the primary attention was focused on Industrial accounts, Automotive applications were also on the agenda. Significant interest was expressed in both our TechTrex based coatings and the IC-105. While development of this market is handled by our European Agent, Mr. Peter Carter of Camcoat in the UK, the applications have world wide implications.
IC-105 has many applications for plastic parts where greater temperature capability is needed. For those applicators pursuing Industrial and Commercial accounts, IC-105 has potential. In testing with Solvay Advanced Polymers, IC-105 improved certain properties by a very significant amount, when exposed to temperatures above that at which such materials could be expected to be used. IC-105 will adhere to most plastics such as Torlon and PA66. With Industry wanting to replace metal with plastic, this opens up a wide variety of possibilities. Everything from plastic hoses to brackets can be coated with IC-105.
CERMAKROME
We currently manufacture three versions of Cermakrome. The following is a list of their significant differences.
- MCX is the original Cermakrome. It is best in normal to high humidity environments. It can be thinned with water to slow the drying time in low humidity environments. (Part Numbers 1732 and 1728)
- MCXLH is a modified form of MCX for low humidity environments. It has been thinned to slow drying time, but has had the solids brought up to the same level as standard MCX so that coverage remains the same. In addition it has an anti-settling additive to reduce hard settling during storage. This also reduces any tendency to sag or run. However the additive will create a bit of foam if shaken, rather than being stirred. Use of a paint shaker will cause excessive foaming. If foam is encountered simply allow to settle for a period of time and then gently stir the material. (Part numbers 1742 and 1748)
- MCXLH-F is similar to MCXLH except no additive is used in its manufacture. It will settle more than MCXLH but does not foam. (Part number 1758, gallons only)
Be sure to specify which material you wish to order, by part number.
