NEW TITANIUM We have been receiving a large number of requests for "Titanium" colored high temp coatings that can take the heat and have good corrosion resistance. We have just finished formulating this NEW coating, in our High Temp solvent-based system, similar to Black Satin and Colorgard. The new coating will be marketed under the Colorgard label. This will be an air drying material that can either be oven cured or will cure on the vehicle. It will be available in 4oz, 12oz, Quart and Gallon containers. A water-based formulation will be available shortly. We are also nearly finished with an air curing, low temp version that looks real good on brackets and other hardware. This should be available with 30 days. July 2003 Engine Builder magazineThe July issue of Engine Builder had a report on the health of the Machine Shop market. Two points demonstrate the advantage to be found in making Coatings a part of your shops services. In reviewing which parts of the market were doing well, it was pointed out that the Custom Engine Builder market saw a very strong increase in sales. This is the primary market that coatings are being used in. In addition it was noted that the diversification of services was contributing to increased income. Adding a coating service adds diversity to the service you can offer. More and more shops are recognizing that utilizing Tech Line Coatings, in shop is helping keep profits up. Project vehicleWe have just started on our project vehicle. We have brought a very straight 1965 El Camino into our shop. We will be starting on the exhaust first. Coated headers and pipes will be installed as well as some of the new parts from Car Chemistry. We will be building a totally coated engine as well as utilizing our coatings on Suspension, Drive Line, Brake and Cooling systems. The engine will be a 350 backed up by either a 200R or 700R trans. Parts have been supplied to date by; Custom Craft, Inc. (Headers), Car Chemistry (Exhaust Inserts and other parts), Comp Cams (Cam and valve train components), K.B. Pistons, Pro Top Line (Aluminum Cyl. Heads). We will be providing updates and photos as the work progresses. Raceindustry.comThis is a good site to visit. We have just started to list there and feel that it would be beneficial for our customers to have a listing there as well. It appears that a standard listing is N/C. If you wish more prominence banner advertising and other features are available. POWDER COATING INDUSTRYA recent trade journal that covers the paint and powder coating industry pointed out that at a recent meeting of the Powder Coating Institute it was acknowledged that last year was one of the worst for the Powder Industry and that 2003 was not looking much better. Just as with Machine shops, one of the keys to profit is diversity. Adding Tech Line Coatings to a Powder Coating service can lead to an increase in business.
