Welcome to TechLines... January 2005MOPAR MUSCLE MAGAZINEIn the February Issue of Mopar Muscle has an article on building a 440 cu. in “Mild Mannered Mauler”. The writer is very familiar with coatings and uses our coatings regularly. In the text, the photos and in the credits at the end, our products are mentioned. We always recommend that our shops use such editorial mention to help promote their services in their area. NEW TLTDAs part of our ongoing Product Development Program, we are testing an air drying version of TLTD. This will allow the benefits of TLTD to be extended to applications where the part cannot be baked. The coating should be good to constant surface temperatures of at least 400f (Standard TLTD is good to 900f at a minimum). The New air curing coating should be good to temperatures of @900f, for short periods of time. This product may be available in a Retail packaged form. No part number or price has been established for this product at this time. WEB SITEWe are in the process of updating our Web Site. If anyone has any suggestions as to things they would like to see as part of the site please let us know. As an example we will be installing a search function that will allow a user to search for a particular subject that may be covered in a Data Sheet or a Newsletter. CERMAKROME ON ENGINE BLOCKSOccasionally we get a question about applying Cermakrome to an engine block. The concern is that as a thermal barrier it may inhibit the ability of the block to shed heat, thus raising the operating temperature. In the cases we are aware of, no heating problems have been experienced. Some have elected to simply bead blast the finish to give a raw aluminum look, thus mimicking an aluminum block and heads. Others have fully polished the coated parts which gives a highly polished near chrome finish, just as it does on exhaust manifolds. 2004/2005As in each year since we were established we have seen a significant increase in sales. 2004 was the best year ever and our expectations for 2005 are to exceed our 2004 sales. January, 2005 has already started off ahead of January 2004. We continue to see excellent growth in the Exhaust System coating market. This market should be very receptive to our new CilGen™ coatings. Sales and use of Internal Engine coatings are also continuing to grow at a rapid pace. We expect to see this aspect of the Performance market grow at a faster rate than in previous years, as the past skepticism is rapidly being overcome by the continual exposure to the benefits of such coatings in the Media. It is rare to find an Engine Builder or Professional Race Team that is not aware of the benefits and supports their use.
