Welcome to Techlines... January 2001

CERMAKROME

It has been brought to our attention by several shops applying Cermakrome that our product is being used regularly on vehicles displaying the decal of "others". Since we do not have any major sponsorships in place with the sanctioning bodies, such as NHRA, the teams are utilizing decals from "other" companies that do have contingency money posted. Of course this is not the case with every vehicle.

How do you tell which is which. Actually it seems pretty easy, according to those who know the cars involved, the brightest coating is Cermakrome. Cermakrome is also handling more heat than the "others" can, and when the "others" dull, Cermakrome will still be bright.

EQUIPMENT LEASING

We have found a leasing company that will handle the smaller lease amounts that are needed to acquire the vibratory polishers necessary to polish Cermakrome. Of course they can handle larger lease amounts as well. Give us a call and we will be happy to supply the information to those companies which would like to take advantage of such leases.

MPMC CONFERENCE

We had the privilege of participating in the MPMC conference. This conference brings Performance Manufacturers together with the Editors and writers from all the major magazines. The conference allows for one on one meetings with the editors, allowing them to acquire a great deal of information regarding new products. This conference is a major source of magazine articles that appear during the following year. There should be a variety of articles coming out drawing attention to the value of coatings. We will advise you when we become aware of the publications that will run such articles.

SEMA/AUSTRALIA AUTOMOTIVE SHOW

Tech Line will be a participant in the Australian Automotive show that will be held in Sydney Australia May 25 through the 27. We look forward to meeting many of our customers from this area of the world. Tech Line products are doing extremely well in this market and we felt this would give us an opportunity to support our customers. We will also be strengthening our distribution arrangement in Australia, which will allow us to better serve the needs of the market that Australia is best located to take care of. It is our intention to have our Australian Distributor supply not only Australia but a substantial portion of the South East Asian market as well.

CERMACLEAR AND CERMAWHITE

The response to these products has been excellent. To successfully take advantage of these products it is, however, necessary to closely follow the directions. Both of these coatings need to be blended for one (1) hour before use. If the coatings are not blended for one hour they may not cure completely and remain soft. The blending is critical not only to a complete mixing, but to assure the proper chemical reaction takes place. These coatings do not need to be oven cured, though cure time can be accelerated by curing for one hour at 200f to 300f, after allowing to air dry for 1 hour. If they are still soft simply allow to hang at room temperature. The air surrounding the coated parts must be moist. If the humidity is real low, mist some water over the parts. It is also possible to hang in an area that remains moist, such as where you can dampen the floor to keep moisture in the air.

CERMAWHITE

We have found that when CermaWhite is polished it takes on a very shinny appearance very similar to porcelain. Unfortunately placing it in a vibratory polisher with the Microbright that polished Cermakrome, does not work on CermaWhite. We are experimenting now with softer medias that will allow machine polishing of CermaWhite. This coating can take very high temperatures and still look good.
