Magazine Articles
A number of articles are appearing that reference the use of coatings.
The latest Chevy High Performance (May 2002) on page 30 identifies
Don of Cap's Brite Hot Coatings as having coated the exhaust system
on a very nice 55 Chevy. Several other articles are scheduled that
we are aware of that make use of the coating skills of Tech Line applicators.
We will advise you as these appear. Use these to help show the broad
appeal and use of Performance Coatings by Tech Line.
IRL Race Phoenix, AZ
From Custom Craft of Midland Arkansas
Jim Dugan advises us that the WINNING car as well as the second place
finisher were running our header coatings.
CermaLube Tip
From Doug at Process Coatings
Doug has a great deal of experience spraying CermaLube and wanted
to pass on the following information. CermaLube is very thickness
sensitive. If you get a run, it will flake. This generally appears
at the edge of a coated part such as a piston skirt. Use air to blow
the excess off, this will thin the build up. Do a standard tape test
to check if you have proper adhesion. Using masking tape, push a strip
firmly onto the coating, after curing the part and then jerk it
off quickly. If a few specs come of it is normal. If a large quantity
comes off and you can see bare metal the proper bond was not achieved.
Hazardous Shipping
Due to ever tightening regulations it has become necessary to identify
Cermakrome, MCSsf, HHBK, CBC2, CBX and related coatings has "hazardous"
for shipping. This will add a fee, required by the freight companies,
to each order. It is especially critical to be aware of the cost if
an air shipment is needed. The class for shipping purposes allows
only 1 Gallon per box, for air shipment. The hazardous fee is per
box, so try to plan ahead for your inventory needs. Last minute shipments
will be more expensive. CBC2 and CBX will ship ORM-D when shipped
by ground and will occur no additional expense. They will be more
expensive by air as described above. Canadian customers will need
a US shipping address as UPS will not carry hazardous materials across
the border, though they are planning to do so in the future.
NEW Products
We are now able to do new R & D projects. Due to the moving of
our shipping facility, we have been unable to do significant R &
D. Now that we are in a settled position, watch for new products as
well as favorable modifications to existing coatings. In addition
we are beginning to become involved in more projects outside of the
automotive industry. While we have always had an industrial presence,
the demand for Thin Film, High Temperature Coatings is growing. There
are several very nice projects underway and we hope to see significant
business made available to our Applicators, as these projects are
completed. If you are approached by industrial/commercial accounts
do not hesitate to give us a call about coatings for their needs,
this is especially true in the electronics industry.
