Welcome to Techlines...December 2007 "The Industry Experts in
Thin Film Technology"
From: JCM, House Springs, MO.JCM has been using Tech Line products in the Automotive Industry for many years. They are now beginning to branch out into other markets. One of the first areas has been in the Printing Industry. JCM has just received a contract to coat the ground gears for large printing presses. The coating significantly reduced the friction between the gears resulting in a 15 degree drop in operating temperature. This was of critical concern as these presses are many times used in applications where the maintenance is poor and the increased lubricity provides the extra level of protection, for the longevity required. From: Process Coatings, FloridaDoug has passed on to us the results of long term testing using our TLHB on heat exchanger plates used to cool a lead acetate solution, used in the manufacture of engine bearings. The solution would normally foul the plates, which required shutting the exchanger down every two to three days. The plates also had to go through an elaborate cleaning process. This would shut down the lines for two to three days, significantly impacting production and cost, as these units run 24/7. After coating the plates, the coated units ran for one (1) month before any fouling was observed. The run time could be stretched to two months if needed. The fouling simply rinsed off with water. The manufacturer of the plates is the Mueller Corporation and is promoting the coated Accu-Therm “Free Flow” units. PRIThe show this year was extremely good for Tech Line. The new CilGen “Brilliance” line was extremely well received, especially the “LTC” clear coat, that is currently available. We continue to see steady growth in the interest in header coatings, especially the New ColorGard Formulations. Internal Engine coatings are also growing in popularity as the recognition of their benefits continues to mount, as evidenced by the steady flow of attendees into our booth. The overall market seems to be relatively unaffected by the possible slowing of the economy. Our sales were up significantly in 2007 with December showing a nice gain over last December. The comments of the majority of the attendees who stopped by our booth expressed the same optimism for 2008.
